Purpose of Location Tracking

Keavibe Online Service uses location tracking to provide safe, efficient and reliable transportation services. Location data helps us connect riders with nearby drivers, calculate fares, monitor trips and improve overall service quality. Keavibe Online Service uses location tracking to ensure the efficient operation, safety and reliability of its transportation services. Location data enables the platform to accurately identify pickup and drop-off points, match riders with nearby available drivers and provide real-time navigation and route optimization throughout a trip. Location tracking is also essential for calculating fares based on distance and travel time, displaying real-time trip progress to users and supporting features such as estimated arrival times and trip history. Additionally, location data helps enhance user safety by enabling emergency assistance, incident investigation and dispute resolution between riders and drivers.
Keavibe may further use aggregated and anonymized location data to analyze service performance, improve platform functionality, optimize coverage areas, prevent fraud or misuse of the service and comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Location information is collected only as necessary to deliver these purposes and is handled in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection laws.

Types of Location Data Collected

Keavibe Online Service may collect and process different types of location data depending on how users interact with the platform and the permissions granted on their devices. This includes:

  • Precise (Real-Time) GPS Location:
We collect real-time GPS location data from riders when they open the app, request a ride, during an active trip and until the trip is completed. For drivers, real-time GPS location is collected while they are logged into the app, marked as available, en route to a pickup location and during trips. This data allows accurate ride matching, navigation, fare calculation and trip tracking.
  • Background Location Data (Drivers Only):
With driver consent and where permitted by law, the app may collect location data in the background while drivers are online to ensure continuous availability updates, efficient dispatching and reliable service operation.
  • Approximate Location Information:
When precise GPS data is unavailable or disabled, Keavibe may collect approximate location information such as city, region, or general area, which may be derived from IP address, network data, or device settings, to support basic app functionality and service availability checks.
  • Trip-Related Location History:
We may store pickup points, drop-off points, routes traveled and timestamps associated with completed trips for purposes such as receipts, trip history, customer support, safety investigations, dispute resolution and legal compliance.
  • Device and Network-Based Location Signals:
In some cases, Keavibe may use supplementary location signals (such as Wi-Fi or mobile network data) to improve location accuracy, particularly in areas where GPS signals are weak.

Location data is collected only to the extent necessary to provide Keavibe services, improve platform performance, ensure user safety and meet legal or regulatory obligations and is handled in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy laws.

How Location Data Is Used
Keavibe Online Service uses location data to operate, manage and improve its transportation platform. Location information is primarily used to identify rider pickup locations and efficiently match ride requests with the nearest available drivers, reducing wait times and improving service reliability. During an active trip, real-time location data is used to provide navigation and route optimization, ensuring drivers follow efficient routes and riders receive accurate estimated arrival times. Location data is also essential for calculating trip distance, duration, tolls where applicable   and final fare amounts, as well as generating receipts and maintaining trip records.

Keavibe enables real-time trip tracking for both riders and drivers to increase transparency and enhance user experience, allowing riders to monitor trip progress and share trip details for personal safety if desired. Location data also supports safety-related features, including emergency assistance, incident reporting, investigation of complaints and resolution of disputes between users. Additionally, location information is used to detect, prevent and investigate fraudulent activity, unauthorized use of the platform and violations of Keavibe’s terms and policies. Aggregated and anonymized location data may be analyzed to evaluate service performance, optimize coverage areas, improve platform functionality and support customer service operations, while ensuring individual users are not personally identified. Location data is processed only for legitimate business purposes, retained only as long as necessary and handled in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection laws.
